Conferentie Wie schrijft geschiedenis?
Programma 27 november
400 colleagues will come to Utrecht on november 26 for the conference Who writes history?’ The next day, visit others during The big practise day.
We denken graag mee.

What does The big practise day offer
The conference explores the theme; The big practise day showcases concrete examples and projects. Organizations, communities, and research groups across the country will open their doors to colleagues. Even if you weren’t in Utrecht, you’re warmly welcome. You can visit activities around the theme ‘Who writes history?’ Or organize something yourself.
Will you open your doors too
Last year, David van Reybrouck, Thinker of the Netherlands, already said at the ‘From yesterday, for tomorrow’ conference: ‘Open the window as wide as possible, set the bar as high as possible, and keep the threshold as low as possible.’
The big practise day is the moment for that. Because a lot is happening across the Kingdom: research, digital public applications, exhibitions, and citizen science projects. How wonderful would it be to welcome colleagues and explore the theme ‘Who writes history?’ together? Do you have an example around this theme with your historical society, archive, museum, library, community, research group, or theater group? Open your window (or door)!
What will you offer
Your activity can be anything: a walking tour, a behind-the-scenes look at a citizen science project, a wiki write-in session, testing a new exhibition, and so on. What would you like to share with colleagues? A project you’re proud of? Or do you want to discuss a question with colleagues in the field who have similar questions? It’s all possible during The big practise day.
What we ask
Does this excite you and do you have a great idea for november 27? Send an email to events@netwerkdigitaalerfgoed.nl. Not sure how to approach it? Feel free to email us. We’re happy to think along with you.
How it works
You organize the activity yourself. You determine the format, content, and number of participants. We do ask the following:
- There’s a direct link to the theme ‘Who writes history?’ or to one of the breakout session themes from november 26
- The activity is accessible to all colleagues
- You take care of the location, any catering, and registration
Useful for us to know when registering:
- Title and short text of about 40 words about what you’re planning
- Format of the activity (workshop, mini-symposium, roundtable discussion, open day, tour, etc.)
- Date, time, location, and possible number of participants
- Contact person
What we’ll do
We want as many colleagues as possible to visit each other on november 27. To make that happen, we will:
- Think along with you and make contacts where needed
- Include the activity in the agenda
- Promote the activities to conference participants and non-participants
- Offer a special logo for The big practise day that you can use in your communications
